(N) OffBeat Alfons; The Special One

Alfons came back home to us, and we were so happy! Our neutered boy, William, was however not quite as happy . . .

Monday evening 31 January Alfons from SingSang's first litter came back to us. He became friends with Dixie immediately, and helped her bringing up her first kitten.
Alfie is an extremely affectionate cat, and I have to admit he got a very special place in my heart. But when our William fled house because of Alfie, and we discovered that William has severe pains in his front legs due to calcifications, we got more and more worried.
When the couple who wanted Dixie's kitten Einar, also said they had fallen in love with Alfie – and in fact would prefer him if they had to choose – we agreed to let them have both Einar and Alfie. They live close to us, and I will see Einar and Alfie regularly. Moreover, they are the ultimate pet owners!

My beautiful, affectionate, clever, big and wonderful Alfie. I don't think I'll ever get a cat like him again.

Alfie loves to help Dixie out with the boy.

Just a sweet picture of darling Alfons. He is mostly called Alfie nowadays. Or Affe . . . We love him so much it almost hurts.

Alfons and Dixie are going together like bread and butter. They love each other and do everything together.

And they don't like being interrupted!

Picture taken Monday morning 7 February, one week after he came home. I think I can detect a change in his expression.

You can see his mother in him. Especially in this picture (taken the same day as the one above). A kind of delicacy, something coy about him that his mother also has, but none of them live up to it! They are strongwilled, both of them.

As a kitten Alfons was a talented jumper and climber. This picture, taken Tuesday morning after his arrival the evening before, shows that he doesn't quite dare to take the big jump up onto the high window in the kitchen. But he sure wants to!

Dixie and Alfons posing together Wednesday morning. It looks like Dixie is a small cat. She isn't, she is a medium female, 3.7 kg and long limbed.

We hope we can show Alfons some time. He is very easy to handle, but we don't know how he will react to all the noises and smells in a show hall. He might be spooked, or he might take it in a stride. We'll see.

Alfons in his favourite bed.

Alfons and Tom Helge enjoying a peaceful Saturday evening.

Nothing better than sleeping on the sofa while the tv is on full blast, is there? Typical male thing, I assume.

But of course, being a cat, Alfons has to keep himself clean and neat.

Alfons is back in "Daddy's" dressing gown, where he spent so much time as a kitten.

Back on "Mummy's" shoulder. It feels real nice to have Alfons back home with us.
