(N) OffBeat Bella is now four weeks old (12th of November). The last week she has started to play more, trying to jump at things, chases balls etc. The temperature has dropped even more lately. It's getting fairly chilly outside. To keep it nice and warm downstairs, it is now necessary to use the fireplace in the kitchen every day. Harriet is still spending most of her time with Bella. But of course, since she brings Bella with her all over the house, Harriet gets all the company she wants. See new pictures of Harriet and her daughter at the eighth litters page. You find it if you go to the Litters page. I am still in doubt what to do with Olivia when she starts
calling again. If I find a suitable boy I might consider mating her. Don't
know yet. |

| The Siamese cat - not for the average cat
lover
Neither the Oriental nor the Siamese cat are cats for the average cat lover. These cats demand more, but they also give more. No other cat can compete with them when it comes to intelligence, creativity or the ability to love. These cats are described as the “extra cats”, because they are extra everything – extra energetic, extra emotional, extra smart, extra manipulative etc. If you are looking for just a cat, you have come to the wrong place. The Oriental and the Siamese are cats for people that are a bit extra themselves . . . The Siamese and the Oriental shorthair are basically the same kind of cat, the only thing that separate them from each other are their colours and patterns. The Siamese has the coloured points (face, ears, legs and tail are coloured, and the body should be creamy white or light), while the Oriental shorthair is coloured all over and can be solid or patterned (mackerel, spotted or blotched). The body type, head and so forth are the same. As is the mental condition!
Many people get fascinated by the slender beauty of these cats, but before you consider buying one, you should read this article about what and how they are. If you are still interested, we could have a talk. |
