The lucky bunch

It took Mogens 1.5 hours to get everybody in his new home to love him. He just got out of the carrier as soon as the door was opened, and his new Mum and her old cats just took him into their hearts!

Thinking about it, I can hardly believe my luck. Albert moved to his new home in Bergen, and immediately started to behave as he owned the place. See pictures of him in his new home:
ALBERT'S HOME.

Mogens went to Eidsvoll, and I have never seen such a warm welcome in my life! Everybody loved him from the moment he got out of the carrier! I am so, so grateful that Tordine wanted to have him. You can see where Mogens lives if you click on this link: MOGEN'S HOME.

When Gunn and Olaf Solli told me they would love to have Peter, I felt like it was Christmas' Eve, New Year's Eve and my birthday at the same time! Like his brothers, he just moved into his new home and was loved from the start. And he returned their love.

Ernst is the last to leave home. He is flying to his new home Wednesday 10 November. More information about his new home after he has arrived safely.

Ernst and Peter embracing, with their mother to the left.

Ernst, 28 September. Big boy, or at least he feels like one.

Ernst. Picture taken Sunday 7 November.

Dixie will miss Ernst. They play a lot together.

Young and strong, and ready to rock 'n roll

Ernst is actually black silverticked, the judge said. He has darkened a lot since he was a little baby.

SingSang is now rather fed up with her boys, especially when they try to wrestle her down to get hold of her nipples. Only once in a while she takes one of them with her, and let him suckle her. When she does, she looks like an image of The Perfect Mother!

Mogens (behind), Albert and Ernst (right) in the show pen.

The boys 3.5 months. Peter and Ernst in the back row.

Peter, a week before he was BIS at his first cat show.

Peter and Ernst, almost smothering poor Mogens.

Thirteen weeks old, and everywhere

These boys are big, boisterous and so charming we don't stand a chance against them. They sleep in our bed, they steal our food, they dance on our keyboards, they drag their toys all over the place.

One good thing, though. They don't climb the curtains!

Albert, 3 months old. Self confident, one might say.

Ernst and Albert. Brothers in arms, in so many ways.

Mogens, 3 months old. Mummy's baby boy.

Peter, 3 months, is a bit of an individualist.

Ernst, still a daredevil, but sleeps with Mummy all night.

Peter has a mind of his own, often goes his own ways.

Peter in a bold moment, about to jump...

Albert, 3 months, still the smart guy who thinks a lot.

Ten weeks old, and quite a handful . . .

They obviously feel they are big boys now. Whereever you place your foot, it might be a kitten under it. They come fast. We have started to really enjoy the peaceful moments when they sleep.

When Oline got sick, all the cats were tested for titres. The first results were: Modesty negative, William 1:100, Gabriel 1:400, SingSang 1:100 and Dixie 1:400.

Since then SingSang is tested twice. Negative both times. Dixie and one of the kittens were tested last week. Both were negative.

Peter, 10 weeks old. Bad spots, but lovely personality.

Albert, 10 weeks. He's got lovely ticking.

Mogens, 10 weeks. He runs like mad and bumps his head.

Ernst, 10 weeks, didn't want to be photographed.

Albert, 9.5 weeks old. He is often found on one's lap.

Ernst, left, with Mogens, 9.5 weeks old. Always around.

Albert again, 9.5 weeks. Click for correct proportions.

Peter, 9.5 weeks. His spots are rather poor!

Eight weeks old, big, healthy and lovely!

The kittens weigh well over 1 kg by now. They are actually quite big for their age, and judging by their build and paw size, they will develop into good size adults.

Their temperament is still marvellous. They are trustful and play and snuggle with our guests with the same loving joy as they do with us, no matter if it is a complete stranger to them that handles them.

Peter resting his head on Albert's back, Mogens resting his on Peter's.

Albert, confident and still with a systematic approach to life and its challenges.

Darling Ernst, the little daredevil who loves to sleep on a warm lap.

Peter, 7 weeks old, relaxing in safe environments. He loves his mother so much!

Six weeks old they are a wild bunch!

While writing this Ernst is sleeping on my lap, Albert at my feet and Peter and Mogens are up to some mischief in the adjoining room. But Ernst cannot resist a human lap, or a shoulder to sit on. Excellent view from up there!

All of them are now very good at running, jumping, climbing, fighting, playing, but most of all, they are very good at being cuddled, kissed and carressed in any way possible!

All of them now weigh well over 800 grams, except Mogens, who weighs around 760 gram.

The kittens enjoyed their first outside experience.

It was such a lovely day, and they were so happy.

Mum checks Ernst's bum, while they taste the grass.

An "old" picture of the bunch. They're much bigger now.

Three weeks old, playing, eating, sleeping

It's now quite easy to see what kind of cats these kittens will become. Ernst, for instance, is going to be a handful. He is very active, cannot do anything without telling all the others, and us, about it, and he is just so much fun!
Mogens is still the gentle one, loves to climb, loves to be cuddled, loves to live a life with just the right amount of challenges.
Albert is still the clever one. Systematic. Climbs, investigates, plays, even fights, but never in a rush! Albert takes his time, and does it thoroughly.
Peter is the charmer. He loves his mother, he loves everyone. When you lift him up, you can almost see him smile a really happy smile. He is simply adorable.

Ernst is attacking his mother, just to have some fun.

Typical situation. SingSang must work on discipline...

Peter and Mogens sniffing my jeansclad thigh.

Seems long ago since Albert was this small. One week ago.

On their 3rd week birthday I gave them bigger space.

Peter disappeared into a cave. SingSang kept watch.

Is he still in there, SingSang wonders?

Yes, he was! Peter sticks his head out. This was fun!

Albert is trying out another cave. Mogens watching.

Picture above taken only one week ago. It's incredible?

Ernst, one week ago. They grow fast at this stage.

Mogens one week ago. One week later he was a big boy!

  Two weeks old and named

The blacksilverticked boy is called Albert. He is very alert.

The chocolatesilverticked boy is called Mogens. Very gentle.

Mogens and Albert on the look out for adventure.

The blacksilverspotted boy is called Peter. Lively type.

Walking on wobbly legs

This crowd seemed to be born with curious minds. They were not more than one and a half week before they tried out if they could walk. Albert was the first one to try, and manage.

Albert taking a stroll on the couch. He is rather good at it.

Look how nicely he lifts his hind leg! Albert is methodical.

Albert evaluates the hight down to the floor. Too high.

Mogens has also got the hang of it, but he is not as daring.

Peter is active, and loves to be in the centre of things.

This is Ernst, the blue boy. A very special mind, he has.

SingSang tries her best to keep her babies under control.

Her best option is to tempt them with food.

Some pictures from their first week

These kittens were born with a Gargantuan appetite. They suckled and suckled, and obviously SingSang had to start to produce milk in accordance.

They opened their eyes on the second day. On the whole, this litter seem to be a very forward crowd.

The firstborn, chocolatesilverticked, weighed 122 grams at birth.
The second, bluesilverticked, weighed 118 grams.
The third, blacksilverspotted, weighed 118 grams.
The fourth, blacksilverticked, weighed 124 grams.

24 hours later, they were 132, 140, 134 and 134 grams "heavy".

One week old, their weights were:
Chocolatesilverticked 230 grams
Bluesilverticked 246 grams
Blacksilverspotted 238 grams
Blacksilverticked 246 grams

SingSang with her 3 days old kittens.

Black silverspotted boy, 2.5 days old.

The proud mother with her babies, one week old.

The bluesilverticked boy, 1 week old.
