What's new on this site

April 14, 2010: Two new photos of Inger Lise at the Tenth Litter page. Inger Lise was 11 weeks old Sunday 11th of April.

April 09, 2010: New pictures of Olivia's kittens, 7 weeks old today. They are strong and healthy kittens, and so sweet. New pic on the front page and both 7 weeks- and 6 weeks pics on the eleventh litter page.

March 28, 2010: Both the tenth and eleventh litter page are updated with new pictures. Inger Lise is 9 weeks old today, and Olivia's kittens were 5 weeks old Friday 26th of March.
New pic on the front page and the Litters' page as well.

March 19, 2010: The eleventh litter page is updated with new pictures. Olivia's kittens are 4 weeks old today.

March 17, 2010: Finally! I got round to update my website tonight. Front page, Litters page, tenth litter page and a new page for the eleventh litter. The links are also updated with a link to the breeder of the stud I borrowed for Olivia.

February 01, 2010: First page, Litters page an new pages for Bella's kittens are updated. You find the new pages on the Litters page, 10th litter. There is also information about the kittens' father on the 10th litter page. You will also find his pedigree there.

January 07, 2010: First page and Litters page are updated. Bella is very pregnant after 7 weeks, so I am a bit worried she will burst before she is due around 18th of January?
Olivia is mated too, and I am rather certain she is pregnant. But it's a bit too early to say today, really. More information about the two litters will come relatively soon.

November 25, 2009: I have had too much to do this Summer and Autumn, but finally I have started making plans for a couple of new litters.
Front page, Litters page and Olivia's page (under Cats), are updated with new pictures. Information about the matings will come soon.

July 19, 2009: The following updates were done tonight; Gabriel's page (you find a link at the front page and the Cats' page), the Cats' page, the Litters' page and the ninth litter's page. A new picture also on the front page.

June 26, 2009: Yesterday the kittens were 6 weeks. New pics of them at the index page (scroll down a bit), the Litter page and the Ninth litter page.

June 19, 2009: New pictures of the kittens, five weeks old yesterday. They are ever so sweet, and I am so grateful for them. Hope to find a nice home for Sizi, not too far away?
It's very empty in my home since Gabriel died. I miss him every day.

June 11, 2009: New pictures of Olivia's babies on the ninth litter page (link from Litters, see the menu to the left). They are four weeks old today.

June 7, 2009: The kittens were three weeks old 4th of June. Index, Litters and ninth litter page are now updated with new pictures of them.

June 2, 2009: The Siamese links page is updated with a link to the Italian breeder Federcia Andreoli. She has a very nice website indeed, and lots of pictures of her beautiful cats!

May 28, 2009: After a long period of serious sickness (kidneys and pancreas), Gabriel was put to sleep today. It was a painful decision, but I hope it was the best thing to do for him. I already miss him terribly.
The Ninth Litter page is updated with new pics of the girls, now two weeks old. The front page shows a picture of Gabriel taken the day before he died.

May 23, 2009: On the 14th of May Olivia gave birth to two daughters, one Siamese and one black Oriental. Read more about them on the Litters page and the ninth litter page.
New pics on the front page, too.

November 28, 2008: Lots of new pics of Bella at the age of five and six weeks at the eighth litter page.

November 13, 2008: Yesterday Bella was four weeks old. New pics of her on the index page and the eighth litter page.

November 5, 2008: Bella is three weeks old today. The loveliest of kittens ever! New pics of her at the eighth litter page and the front page.

October 30, 2008: New pictures of Harriet's babygirl who now has the name Bella. See the index page, the Litters page and the eighth litter page (you'll find it on the Litters page).
Bella was two weeks old yesterday.

October 20, 2008: Harriet gave birth to a lovely babygirl 15th of October. The two brothers didn't make it. The following pages are updated; index page, litters page and a new page for OffBeat's eighth litter. Information about the babygirl's father will soon be published. He is a seal point, (N) Sunsim Beta Castor. There are only Siamese in both his and Harriet's pedigrees.

October 1, 2008: Harriet is expecting her first litter middle of October. This litter will have only Siamese in their pedigree. Olivia is also mated, but it is too soon to tell whether she got pregnant or not. I changed the text on some of the pages.

July 24, 2008: There's a new picture of Dixie at the front page, and a new picture of Olivia at the Litters page.
So far Harriet has not called again. I haven't given up hope, but she's obviously not planning to call in the immediate future. Olivia, however... Hope to have some good news soon.

May 24, 2008: The front page is updated with a picture of Olivia in the garden. Information about the planned matings will be given on the Litters' page – hopefully rather soon.

May 22, 2008: Two new pictures. One of Tom and Singsang, which you will find if you click "People" and scroll down to the bottom, and one of Modesty which is on the front page.

May 2, 2008: You learn as you go, they say. Last check up of Harriet (April 30), showed a completely normal uterus, but a cervix uteri that was still a bit dilated and open. This of course due to her giving birth to those dead foetuses, and the treatment with Alizin. Since she never had any bacterial discharge (pus), and it was only blood tinged fluid that came out of her, the vet concluded that Harriet never had a pyometra. However, it could have developed into one, had we not discovered what was going on inside her uterus, and started to treat her to get the dead ones out. The theory is that the foetuses died because there was something wrong with them.
Harriet will hopefully be mated on her first call after this.

April 28, 2008: New pictures of Claudia taken by Sue Yates on the Seventh Litter page. Go to Litters, scroll down to the Seventh Litter and click.

April 24, 2008: The treatment seems to work fine. The day after the first shot with Alizin, Harriet's uterus opened up and we could see blood tinged fluid coming out.
In the evening hours she gave "birth" to two foetuses. One looking like a normal foetus, only very small, the other a flat disgusting mass of something. The foetuses must have died at an early stage and are probably the cause of the infection?
She has started eating again and seems quite unaffected of her condition. She will be back at the clinic for a new ultrasound and check up April 30.

April 22, 2008: Harriet stopped gaining weight between week 6 and 7 of her, what I believed was her pregnancy. She also started to be very picky about her food, and was clinging extra to me. So I took her to the vet for an ultrasound and check up today.
We saw that Harriet was not pregnant at all, but had a closed pyometra. This can cause hormones to send signals to the brain about pregnancy, so according to the vet that is the explanation to why Harriet has shown all the typical signs of pregnancy. Up til now.
She was given her first injection with Alizin today and has to be back for another one tomorrow. She is also put on Synulox.
But if the uterus doesn't open so that the liquid we saw in there could ooze out, she has to be neutered immediately. So the next 24 hours will be crucial. If nothing comes out, and she starts to look poorly, we have to rush to the clinic straight away.
We are lucky to have a 24 hour open clinic only minutes away from where we live.

April 16, 2008: On the 10th of April I flew to England with Rufus and Claudia and delivered them to their new owners. Both of them took the journey very well, and adjusted quickly to their new surroundings and people.
New pics of them at the Seventh Litter page.
Claudia took her 6th BIS at her 6th show, and Rufus finally got Best in Show (neuter male), before they left for England.
Harriet is pregnant and we expect her to deliver sometime between May 6–10. She's mated to Inga-Lill Johansson's beautiful and very sweet tempered seal point boy, called Porsche. More information on the Litter page. More will come in due time.

March 26, 2008: A new pic of Harriet on her own page. See Cats, then click on the link to Harriet. She is one year old tomorrow.

February 06, 2008: Finally some updates! New pics on the front page, new pics on the Seventh litter page (click Litters and scroll down). Claudia and Rufus were shown at Lirak's show outside of Oslo on the 27th of January, and both were nominated. Claudia won by pure luck and took her fifth BIS, whereupon she gained the title Junior Winner (FIFe). She was also Best in Variant.

December 14, 2007: Front page is updated, new pics of Claudia and Rufus at the Seventh Litter page. Click Litters to get there.
Claudia is doing very well at the shows she's been to. She's got a very long, very thin whippy tail – that might explain it, because her tail gives such an addition to the elegance all over, which she has. She is a very elegant young cat.

October 09, 2007: Lots of new pics! Harriet has finally got her own page, where you also will find her pedigree. Go to "Cats" and scroll down.

October 02, 2007: Friday 28th of Oct. Etta moved to her new owner, and what a match they are! She has never liked to lie on her back before, but with her new owner Sigurd, she stretches out like a little baby on his lap and did so immediately. The first evening in her new home she accompanied Sigurd to a party, where she enjoyed more attention than she's ever got in her life before. And she loved it. Next day he brought her with him to the pub to listen to the afternoon concert there. Again, she got a lot of attention, and just loved it. She follows Sigurd like a little puppy, and he will bring her along to his gallery every day.
I am so, so happy for my two kittens.
Claudia and Harriet was at a show in the weekend 29-30th of September. Claudia was Best in Show both days, and Best in Variety the second day. Harriet was nominated Sunday, but lost in the panel to a gorgeous seal tabby pt boy.
New pictures of the kittens and a new picture of Harriet.

September 06, 2007: Only Etta remains to be sold now. I hope I will find someone that has a lot of time for her, because she is of that kind who wants to have company at all times, and she wants to take part in everything that goes on.
Butti is going to a couple I have known for years via work and the Net. They have four moggies from before, two of them huge! I am very happy they decided to take Butti, because I am convinced she will fit in brilliantly with them!
Rufus is going to another friend of mine, and Claudia is going to a friend of her. Complicated? Not at all. They live rather close, and I am so, so happy!

August 28, 2007: New pics of the kittens, new pic of me taken at a bluesfestival this summer. Rufus has thrown a loose sternum, so he will not go to Lise anyway. Instead he will be spoilt rotten by a friend of mine.

August 18, 2007: Olivia's babies are now 11 weeks old. I hope I can mate Olivia once more with their father, because I am so pleased with the kittens they made together. Their temperament is wonderful, and I really want an Oriental girl like Rufus . . .
New pics at the front page, Litters page and Seventh Litter page.
I guess I will have to do something to get the girls sold, but I feel there is no hurry, really. I am so grateful Rufus will be staying here in Fredrikstad, and that his new owner wants to show him and go to shows together with me. This way I will not lose contact with him.

August 12, 2007: New pictures front page, Litters page and the Seventh Litter page. Olivia's kittens were 10 weeks old on the 10th of August. Took Etta to the clinic that day to have her ribcage X-rayed. The pictures showed that her lower ribs on the left side have been fractured and healed in a slightly askew position. The fractures were probably caused by Etta's rough birth, she has had no incident afterwards that could explain the fractures. According to the vets, Etta won't be bothered by this at all.

August 07, 2007: New pics of Olivia's kittens at the front page, Litters' page and the Seventh Litter page. The kittens are now a little more than 9 weeks old, and they are so incredibly charming I almost cry when I think about having to sell them. Rufus is already sold, but won't be leaving home until beginning of September, of course. The girls are not sold yet.

July 20, 2007: Olivia's kittens are 7 weeks today. New pics of them at the Seventh Litter page, you will find the link on the Litters page. I think they are the most charming kittens I have had ever?

July 07, 2007: Yesterday Olivia's kittens were 5 weeks old. New pics of them at the Seventh Litter page, at the Litters' page and at the front page.

June 30, 2007: New pics of Olivia's kittens. Look at the Litters' page, the Seventh Litter page and the front page.

June 26, 2007: Harriet is now 13 weeks old, Abbie is tomorrow. New pics of them at the Sixth Litter page.

June 22, 2007: The Seventh litter page is now updated with new pictures of Olivia's kittens, three weeks old today. There's also a new pic of Caludia and Etta at the front page.

June 21, 2007: The Sixth litter page is updated with new pictures of Harriet and Abbie, now 12 weeks old. Olivia's kittens are three weeks old tomorrow, so their page will soon be updated too.

June 15, 2007: Finally I pulled myself together and updated my homepage with some new pictures. You'll find them on the front page, the Litters' page, the Sixth and Seventh litter pages. Harriet and Abbie are now 11 weeks old, and Olivia's kittens are 2 weeks old already.

June 09, 2007: New picture of Olivia and her babies at the front page. New pictures of her kittens at the Seventh Litter page, and new pictures of Harriet and Abbie at the Sixth Litter page. Olivia's kittens are one week old, Harriet and Abbie are ten weeks old.

June 3, 2007: Friday 1 June Olivia gave birth to a lovely bunch of kittens. She did it in a calm, confident way that really impressed me. There were 4 kittens in the litter, three Siamese and one Oriental Shorthair. A pity there weren't more Orientals, of course, but Olivia is very happy so then are we!
New pictures at front page, Litters page, new page with info and pictures of Olivia's litter, their father's pedigree is there as well as a new picture of him (click his own page from the Seventh Litter page).

May 31, 2007: Tuesday and Wednesday Harriet and Abbie were 9 weeks old. New pictures of them on the Sixth Litter-page.
We are waiting for Olivia's first litter, it could come any day now. New pictures of her on the front page and at her own page, see Cats. There is also a picture of the father of her expected litter, published on the Litters' page.

May 25, 2007: I finally found the time to update my homepage. New pictures of Harriet and Abbie at the Sixth Litter-page. New picture of Olivia and Harriet on the Litters' page.
I will shortly update the Litters' page with pics of the father of Olivia's expected litter, as well as his pedigree.

May 17, 2007: The Sixth Litter page is updated with new pictures of Harriet and Abbie, now 7 weeks old. New pic on the Litters' page. I will soon publish more information and pictures of the boy Olivia was mated to.

May 08, 2007: Harriet is 6 weeks old today, Abbie will be tomorrow. New pictures of them on the Sixth Litter page. Click Litters in the left menu, and then scroll down to the Sixth Litter-link.

May 03, 2007: The Sixth litter page is updated with new pictures. Olivia is definitely pregnant and pictures and more information about the stud will soon be published on the Litters' page.

April 24, 2007: Front page, Litters' page and the Sixth Litter page are all updated with new pictures and info. Olivia is probably pregnant. More info about her mate will be published soon. Harriet is 4 weeks old today, Abbie will be tomorrow.

April 17, 2007: Harriet is 3 weeks old today, Abbie will be 3 weeks tomorrow. New pictures on the front page and on the Sixth Litter Page.

April 12, 2007: Harriet and Abbie are two weeks old and there are new pictures of them at the Sixth Litter Page, which you will find if you click on Litters to the left.

April 04, 2007: Today Abbie is one week old, and yesterday Harriet was one week. They are so sweet together, the contrasts between them are fascinating. I believe I have never ever seen such a beautiful kitten as Abbie. She is absolutely gorgeous!
Harriet is probably a seal tortie. Not quite sure yet, but at the moment she looks more "black" than chocolate.
New pictures of the "sisters" at their litter page, sixth litter.

April 01, 2007: Couldn't help myself, but had to publish some new pictures of Abbie and Harriet. Abbie is the most beautiful kitten I have ever seen. Finally it is also clear that Harriet is a Harriet, and not a "Fy Fabian"; she's a tortie.
From now on I will try to update only once a week . . . Updates can be expected around their "weekly birthdays".

March 29, 2007: Tuesday 27th of March, Dixie went through the planned cæsarian and spaying. We knew she had only one kitten, but we didn't know the sex, obviously. But it turned out to be the little Harriet that we have longed for for so many years now!
Two days later, we got a call from a friend who had a friend that needed a foster mother for his Abyssinian kitten, born one day after Harriet. We decided to give it a try, and Dixie once again showed what a caring cat she is. She took little Abbie to heart almost instantly!
Read more on the Litters' page. New pictures on the front page, Litters' page and a new page for (N) OffBeat's sixth litter, also including pictures of Abbie. Pics of Abbie will of course be published at the same time as we publish new pictures of Harriet. On the Litters' page, you will find information about the breeder of Abbie.

February 27, 2007: The index page is updated with a new picture of our Ocicat, Modesty. She will be 8 years old 10th of March.
Gabriel is now almost completely healed, apart from his "bald" thigh. He has changed a bit mentally, though. He is much calmer, more soft spoken. He still doesn't like being alone in a room for too long, and he is on our laps as soon as we sit down somewhere.

February 21, 2007: Friday 16th Gabriel's stitches were removed. There was still a little opening where he had licked a little bit too hard, but it was dry and clean so the vet said to leave it be. He has licked it once more, but what remains of the wound is now a tiny little opening that is healing well. We tried with a collar, but Gabriel went ballistic, so we had to trust he had the good sense to do what Mumma says and not lick that wound too much. He has been a good boy so everything is fine!
New pictures of him at his own page.

February 13, 2007: Monday morning, yesterday, Gabriel was at the clinic again. No re-operation was necessary, his wound is healing nicely, it's dry and clean. He no longer needs penicillin and his weight gain is continuing, not as fast though, but he's looking so much better. New pictures of him at his own page.

February 9, 2007: Before six thirty this morning Gabriel woke us up. He was restless, and we discovered that he had managed to loosen two of the stitches in his thigh. In all haste, and rather sleepy, we took one of Tom's old socks and managed to adapt it to Gabriel's thigh in a way that made it sit there.
In the afternoon Gabriel was back at the clinic. The vet on duty said to observe the wound during the weekend and come back Monday morning at 09.15. Then they would decide whether Gabriel needed to be re-operated.
Gabriel's page is updated with two pictures showing his "designer-thigh".

February 8, 2007: Gabriel's page is updated with new pictures, and I have also put out a new pic of Dixie and Olivia at the front page. Gabriel is making great progress. I weighed him today and he now weighs close to 3.5 kg. He is eating very well, and the wound seems to mend without any problems. He has so far left the stitches in peace.

February 3, 2007: Gabriel's page is updated with new pictures. He is gaining weight quickly. I also updated the front page with a little picture of Gabriel below Alfie, and made a link directly to Gabriel's page from there too. Otherwise one can access Gabriel's page both from the grey word "page" in the text on the front page, or from a link below his picture in the right column at the Cats' page.
Gabriel is doing fine. He is truly a remarkable cat. No one can really understand how he could have survived those 3 weeks in the freezing cold, without food and warm shelter?

February 1, 2007: We couldn't wait with the operation any longer, so today Gabriel was operated. He made it, but that is mostly thanks to the vets at Fredrikstad Dyrehospital. They have more than once worked miracles, and in addition to their expertise in vet-medicin, they are so very nice to us pet owners. They comfort, support and endure us!
Gabriel's page is updated with pictures from the operation.

January 31, 2007: Gabriel's page is updated with pictures of the place where he was found, and a picture of the young man who found him. We are so grateful to him, so very, very grateful.

January 30, 2007: The day after I updated my homepage with the devastating news about Gabriel's disappearance, he was found! We will be forever grateful to the young man who found him, and made the effort to deliver him at the veterinarian clinic (which actually was the clinic we use, and where they know Gabriel very well).
Read about Gabriel on his own page. You will find it if you click on "Cats" and then on the link below the picture of Gabriel in the right margin. Front page is also updated.
Gabriel is very weak. Has lost half his weight, and is badly injured. He needs an operation but is too weak at the moment, so we have to wait until he has gained some strength. He has got extra fluid at the vets, and will continue to spend a couple of hours every morning at the clinic to get extra fluid until he is better. He was extremely dehydrated when found, in addition to being starved. So he is fed small rations every other hour.
Blood tests show that his kidneys are still working. There is a slight worry about one liver- and kidney test that is a little bit too high, but that is probably due to his starvation for a long time and then suddenly having food in his system again. We expect this test will show normal values within a week.

January 28, 2007: The following pages are updated; Cats, People, Front page (index) and there is a new page about Gabriel, which you will find if you click on the link below the picture of him at the Cats' page.

January 7, 2007: Just altered the text a bit at the Litters' page.

December 20, 2006: Substituted the picture of Noah at the front page with a picture of Tom relaxing in the sofa together with Dixie and Gabriel. This is how we hope to spend most of our Xmas, in a very relaxed way!

December 11, 2006: Yesterday, 10th of Dec, Noah was shown for the first time. I drove up to him and his owner, Tordine, the night before and we all went to the show together very early Sunday morning. We were a bit surprised to see that there were so many beautiful Juniors there. (In FIFe, cats between 6 and 10 months old, are competing in a Junior class.)
The judge who had Noah on her table, picked him as her best Junior, in front of a gorgeous black mackerel Oriental boy, whom I was sure was the one she would pick, and a delicately beautiful Foreign White. In the finals (panel), Noah met a truly stunning Seychellois, so extremely typey and gorgeous there was no doubth that he would be the Best in Show Junior. The other Junior was a very beautiful blue mackerel girl, who became Scandinavian Winner earlier this year.
However, the beautiful girl got no votes, Noah got one vote! And the Seychellois got the other two votes, which was no surprise. Tordine and I, however, celebrated that one vote as a Great Victory! We were both so proud. And Noah behaved so well. He has always been a very gentle boy, which he also was at the show. The judge liked his temperament a lot.
New pictures of Noah at the front page and the Fourth Litter-page.

November 25, 2006: Dixie re-absorbed the kittens she was expecting with D-Shiva's Leonardo at a very early stage during pregnancy. Ultrasound and other veterinarian examinations showed that there is no infection involved, or anything else that could explain it, for that matter. So we expect this is just something that happens once in a while.
This means we will not have any more litters this year, which doesn't feel so bad, after all. We hope we will have some nice litters next year, though. Viktoria will be mated to Noah, and Olivia will be mated to a beautifully spotted Oriental boy. In addition we hope that Dixie will prove able to give us a "purebred" Siamese litter next year.

October 30, 2006: This time you will find that lots of pages are updated: Front page, Litters' page and Cats' page. The latter now contains information about Olivia, whom we kept from SingSang's last litter.
SingSang was spayed the 24th of October. At the same time she had her teeth cleansed, and the X-rays showed she has a dental disease called FORL, Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesion, previously often called neck lesion. Two of her teeth are affected. They will be removed soon. Research over the last 15-20 years has not revealed why as much as 30% of all cats (regardless of breed, also wild species get it) get this disease. It's not life threatening, but it can be extremely painful. The only treatment is to remove the affected teeth.
Dixie is pregnant. If nothing bad happens, she will have her last litter around the 7th of December. This will be a so called "pure" Siamese litter, with only Siamese in the pedigree and the lines behind, as long as I have been able to follow them.

October 04, 2006: Front page is updated, Litter page is updated. The Links' page is also updated with a link to the Swedish breeder Inga-Lill Johansson, Marilljos. She breeds beautiful cats, and she is also the owner of D'Shiva's Leonardo, whom Dixie has been mated with.
All of our kittens have moved to their new homes, apart from Olivia who will stay with us.
It has now become obvious that Olivia has silver. She will hopefully give us some nice silver Oriental kittens next year.
Viktoria, Dixie's daughter, is probably not a silver cat, but will be mated to SingSang's black silver ticked son, Noah, next year. So we are hoping for some nice silver Oriental kittens from her too. Viktoria is living with a family not far from us.

August 16, 2006: New pictures of the kittens at their respective pages, new picture at the front page, at the general Litters page and last, a wonderful new picture of Dixie taken by Inger Marie Meling who visited us for a couple of days in August.
Noah really enjoys living in his new home at Tordine Thomassen's in Hurdal, Norway. I am so glad she is pleased with him! Next week Lance will move to his new home, Viktoria is moving this coming weekend. And Mikkel? We can't decide what to do with him. He's our darling, so funny, so ... there are no words to describe him. But I think I have found the right home for him.

July 31, 2006: Same as usual, new pictures are out at the front page, the Litter page, the Fourth and Fifth litter pages. The kittens are now 14 and 12 weeks respectively. Noah will move to his new home towards the end of this week. The others will have to wait a little longer.

July 24, 2006: The Litter page, the Fourth and Fifth litter pages are all updated with new pictures. SingSang's kittens are now 13 weeks old and Dixie's are 11 weeks old.
SingSang's kittens have already had their first vaccination shot, Dixie's babies will get it tomorrow, Tuesday. They are all vaccinated with Fevaxyn Pentofel, that also contains a vaccine against FeLV.

July 11, 2006: The Litter page (main), and the fourth and fifth litter pages are all updated with new pictures of the kittens 10-11 weeks and 8-9 weeks old.
They are, by the way, lovely. Tuesday 12 July (tomorrow), SingSang and her kittens are to vaccinated. I vaccinate against the usual stuff, but also against FeLV.

June 26, 2006: Lots of new pictures are published on the fourth and fifth litter pages (you'll find them if you click Litters and scroll down), a new picture at the Litters' page, and also at the front page.

June 18, 2006: Kittens are all one week older again, funny how fast the weeks seem to pass now? New pics of both litters at their respective pages. I've also put out new pictures at the main Litters' page and at the front page.

June 10, 2006: Both the fourth and fifth litter pages are updated with new pictures. Same is the main Litter page. One new picture of Dixie with her babies at the front page.

June 03, 2006: Both the fourth and fifth litter pages are now updated with new pictures. There's also a new picture of Viktoria and Mikkel at the Litters' page, very similar to another one that was there, but of Olivia and brothers.
Viktoria and Mikkel are now 4 weeks old, while Olivia, Lance and Noah are 6 weeks old today.

May 30, 2006: New picture on the front page. I caught Dixie in such a tender moment with her son, now called Mikkel, that I had to put it out on my website. Mikkel is a name connected to the fox in Norway. Since Mikkel, Dixie's son, is both red and seems to be rather smart, I think the name suits him.

May 27, 2006: SingSang's kittens are 5 weeks old today, Dixie's were 3 weeks old yesterday. New pictures of both litters at their respective pages (fourth and fifth litter). New pictures also at the Litters' page and at the front page.

May 20, 2006: SingSang's kittens are 4 weeks old today. You'll find new pictures of them at the fourth litter page, a picture of Olivia, the most charming kitten on earth! at the front page and the Litters' page.

May 19, 2006: New picture on the front page, new picture of Dixie-babies on the Litters' page and finally "two weeks old"-pictures at the fifth litter page.

May 14, 2006: Updated Dixie's and SingSang's pages with pictures. You'll find their pages if you first click on Cats in the menu to the left.

May 13, 2006: Yesterday Dixie's kittens were one week old. You'll find new pictures of them at the Fifth litter-page (located on the Litter-page). Today SingSang's kittens are three weeks old. New pictures of them on their own page, Fourth litter-page. There are also new pictures at the front page.

May 08, 2006: Friday 5 May, Dixie had gone 70 days counted from the first day of mating. She started to have some bloodtinged discharge, so I took her to the vets for an ultrasound. We could then see at one of her kittens (she had two, as I had thought) didn't thrive in there any longer.
The c-section was done one hour later. First out was a red Oriental boy. The second, a Siamese girl, was more dead than alive, but thanks to a veterinary nurse with magic hands (or healing hands?), the girl came to after 35 minutes of massage.
They are now three days old, doing fine and Dixie is so happy. They put on weight as they shall, and they seem to act as every other kitten their age.
The following pages are updated: Front page, Litters page, new page with OffBeat's fifth litter, the father's pedigree and a page on his own.
The fourth litter page is also updated with new pictures of SingSang's kittens.

April 29, 2006: SingSang's litter is one week old today. The Siamese boy born last, died yesterday, probably from an infection in his lungs caused by amniotic fluid. He got sick Wednesday afternoon, almost died during the night, but got better on Thursday. Friday night he got worse again, and started behaving in a really weird way. He died soon afterwards. It was a hard blow, because I had really thought that he would make it. I had already named him Victor.
The other Siamese, whom I thought was a boy, looks more and more like a girl now. She is by far the biggest of them now, and it'll be great fun to follow her development.
The two Oriental boys are so sweet. They all gain weight like they shall, and they have wonderful little voices.
You'll find pictures and information on the fourth litter-page, a new picture on the Litters' page and a new one on the index page.

April 24, 2006: SingSang delivered her litter on the 67th day this time. Four boys were born Saturday 22 April. Two of them were Siamese (a bit disappointing that was), but they look lovely. The birth was easy, and her milk started flowing immediately.
Pages that are updated: Front page, Litters' page, a new page for OffBeat's fourth litter, a new page with information about the father of the litter.

April 21, 2006: Today SingSang is on her 66th day counted from the first observed mating. She is a bit tired now, but will probably wait a day or two before she starts to give birth. Last time she waited until the 69th day before she decided it was time. Two new pictures of her on the front page. The gallery is updated with pictures of both her and Dixie.

April 14, 2006: Today it felt like Spring had finally decided to visit Fredrikstad! We had a wonderful day out in the garden, and I also took some pictures. You can see some of them at the front page, the Litters' page and at the Gallery.
Both SingSang and Dixie are doing fine, but I don't expect Dixie to give birth to more than a couple of kittens. SingSang will probably stick to her "usual" number? 4-5 kittens.

March 28, 2006: New pictures of SingSang and Dixie at the front page, at their own pages and one new of Dixie at the Litters' page. Gallery is also updated.

March 15, 2006: Life's been rough on me lately. William, our bluepoint neuter, was put to sleep Friday 10th of March. He was in severe pain due to arthritis. Painkillers and glucosamine didn't help. At the moment I can't say I look forward to kittens, but I hope that will change in time since both SingSang and Dixie are pregnant. Expected deliveries at the end of April.
I hope to update my homepage with new pictures soon. For now, I have only put out a new picture of SingSang at the entry page, and a new one of Dixie at the Litters' page. I have also added a link to the breeder Cleopatra Lindell at the Links' page.

February 20, 2006: I have updated the Gallery with some odd pictures. The Links' page is also updated with a link to a Polish breeder that has the same attitude towards breeding and keeping cats as I do.

February 13, 2006: I brought Dixie home from her visit to (N) OffBeat Mogens, OSH bs 25, yesterday. SingSang is still at Cleo's, S*Jackpott's, making love to Okonor Mackerel. New pictures of Dixie, Mogens, SingSang and Mackerel are to be found on the front page and the Litters' page.
I have also updated the Links-page with a link to the Jangar breeders. SingSang's father is a boy from Jangar.

January 08, 2006: New pictures of SingSang at the Litters' page, at her own page and at the Gallery page. New picture of Dixie at the front page. I couldn't resist to publish a picture of our Ocicat, Modesty, at the front page. She is a neuter, she is not an Oriental or a Siamese, but she is just adorable!

December 16, 2005: Late Tuesday evening 13 December the vet rang and told us the ringworm tests were negative this time, too. That meant I could go down to the vet's and finally get the document saying our cats are totally healthy, totally rid of the ringworm and that they represent no risk to other cats.
It's been really hard to keep up the demanded level of cleaning, hoovering, disinfecting, washing etc, but it was worth the effort.
I hope to mate Dixie and SingSang in January some time.
New picture of Dixie on the Litters' page, and one on the front page.

December 05, 2005: Friday December 2nd I tested our cats for ringworm again. The tests need 12 days before one can read the results. We hope they will be negative this time too, and so far we have no reason to believe otherwise.
Two new pictures on the frontpage, one of Einar and one of Dixie, Gabriel and William resting with me in the daybed.

November 13, 2005: One month since last time I updated my website. The month has been spent washing, cleaning, hoovering and medicating. The initial wash down of our house was done by a professional cleaning agency. Everything was washed and disinfected, floors, walls, top of the cupboards, furniture, carpets, curtains . . .
It seems that the effort has payed out. 31 October all our five cats were tested again, and they all tested negative. But the final result can not be said before all of our five cats have been tested again in 3-4 weeks.
I've put out new pictures in the gallery, new picture of SingSang at the Litters' page and a new picture of Dixie and her son Einar at the front page.

October 13, 2005: Thursday afternoon 22 September, at 14.15, my vet called me to tell that Dixie had tested positive for ringworm. I had taken her there because she had what I thought was an allergic rash in her ears. It wasn't.
The day after the others were tested. After 10 days the results came. Modesty was very positive, the others had minor manifestations.
The regime to battle ringworm is harsh. It will take some time. The only comfort is, that our house never ever has been so clean! You have to keep it clean and disinfected to kill the spores. Friday 28 October I will test all of them again. If they are negative, they will still have to be tested twice more with 14 days apart every test. If one of them is positive . . . Well, this can take forever. But it won't kill them! Ringworm will eventually pass. And no harm done. To them. As for me, I am already totally exhausted!
New picture of Dixie at the Litters' page, and one new picture of her at her own page.

August 29, 2005: I visited Alfie and Einar again today, and took some new pictures. You can see some of them if you click on the Gallery-link in the menu. Einar is now 14 weeks old, and it looks as if he is going to be a huge cat. He is spoiled rotten by his owners, Randi and Alf, and so is Alfie. Every time I visit them I cry on my way home, because I am so happy for them.

August 16, 2005: The Third Litter-page is updated, the front page is updated, Alfons's page is updated, the Litter-page is updated... So much has happened. Our 6.5 years old neuter, William, was constantly chased by Alfie. We hoped this would pass, but the months came and went, and finally William did not want to come in any more. When Einar's new family said that they would love to have Alfie, and it turned out that he loved them back; a huge problem was solved.
I miss Alfie so much it hurts, but he couldn't have come to a better home. And he's got his best mate with him! Little Einar and Alfie have been extremely close since Einar was born– and this way it will continue.
I'll see them both regularly, because they live near by and I have got the responsibility to clip their nails. So all in all, everyone is happy, especially William. The only one crying in the dark is me.

July 30, 2005: Einar 10 weeks old today. New pictures of him at the Third Litter page. He has developed into such an active little boy; tough, daring and just plain lovely.

July 25, 2005: New pictures of Einar, nine weeks old, at the Third Litter's page. At this age he's got a rubber face. One moment he looks wonderful, the next he looks awful. But he is always a darling!

July 17, 2005: New pictures of Einar are to be found on the Third Litter page, both from his 7 weeks period and as an 8 weeks old kitten.

July 5, 2005: The Third Litter Page is updated with new pictures of Einar, taken when he was 6 weeks and 3 days old (the facial ones) and 6 w, 1 day old (the garden ones).
The Links page is also updated with a link to a Danish breeder called Lone Ebbesen, with the prefix Falstria's.

June 29, 2005: Yesterday I took Einar out for a short stroll in the garden for the first time. Today I took him out again for a little adventure in the garden. The Third Litter page is updated with pictures both of this event and of Einar's little face.
He still doesn't show much interest in any other food than mother's milk, but yesterday he actually ate some wet kitten food. Maybe the fresh air made him more hungry than usual?
There is also a new picture of Dixie at her own page. You access it from Cats in the menu, and then click on Dixie's own page.

June 23, 2005: The Third litter page is updated with new pictures of Einar. We have discovered that he has a bent back, some form of scoliosis, the vet said. At least that is what it looks like. It won't harm him, and there is a small chance he will grow out of it. But however "bent" little Einar is, he is an absolutely adorable kitten!

June 18, 2005: Today Einar is 4 weeks old. New pictures of him and his Mum at the Third Litter page. The front page is also updated with a new picture of Dixie and her son.

June 15, 2005: Einar is now 3.5 weeks old. Every day now, he develops a new skill. The Third Litter page is now updated with new pictures of him. You access it from the Litters' page.

June 10, 2005: Updated the third litter's page with new pictures of Einar and Alfie. This morning Einar took his first jump with all four feet. He looked ever so proud afterwards! Alfie is helping Dixie out more and more with the daily care of her baby. They sleep together with Einar between them, and when he calls, Alfie is now often the one who comes to see what's up. Einar will be three weeks old tomorrow.

June 07, 2005: Couldn't help myself, had to take new pictures of Einar. He is such an adorable little fat guy! New pictures of him are published on the Third Litter page.

June 05, 2005: New pictures of Dixie's boy at the Third Litter-page, which you access from the Litters' page.
Later this same evening I put out some new pictures of Dixie's boy, whom we probably will call Einar.

May 28, 2005: Dixie's boy is one week old today. I put out new pictures of him on the page (N) OffBeat's Third Litter, which you access from the Litters' page.
The boy weighed 198 grams in the morning, which means that he has grown like he should.
I updated Alfons's page with a picture of him tending to Dixie's boy. He sleeps together with Dixie and her boy, and spends almost all day together with them.

May 26, 2005: New picture of Dixie on the front page. Motherhood has given her a new shine, sort of. She looks radiant, and she behaves with a new dignified grace I haven't seen in her before.

May 25, 2005: New picture of Dixie and her boy on the Litters' page. If one may call it a litter, since it's only one kitten, you will find a link to (N) OffBeat's third litter on the same page. Here you will also find links to the boy's father and the father's pedigree.

May 22, 2005: Friday 20 May, Dixie had gone 69 days since the first day of mating. I knew from an ultrasound made after 6,5 weeks pregnancy, that there was one dead kitten and three live ones. Since I saw no signs of labour Friday, I took her to the vet for an ultrasound again, just to check that everything was ok inside her. We saw three live kittens with normal heartrates and activity. We decided to give her a chance to give birth the natural way. That turned out to be an error.
Late that same Friday night, she came into labour and gave birth to the dead kitten. After that things didn't develop as they should. I waited and hoped, but close to six o'clock in the morning I didn't dare wait any longer and took her in to surgery. The Cæcarean was too late to save two of the kittens (the placentas had loosened), but the third one lived. A boy. A wonderful boy. Dixie is a very loving mother, and her milk is flooding. Pictures of the boy will come soon. Today there is a picture of Dixie and son on the front page, and one on the Litters' page.

May 16, 2005: New picture on the front page. Today Dixie has gone 65 days since the first day of mating with Leo. She doesn't seem inhibited by her condition at all, apart from that she sleeps a lot more than usual. In fact, she sleeps most of the day, but when she gets up she wants to play and have fun. Unless there is any food around. She is, if possible, eating more than ever before. She does not eat much at a time, though, but she eats a million times a day!

May 05, 2005: Today I updated the gallery with some very funny pictures of Alfie and our Ocicat Modesty. She is a very gentle cat, who is constantly subjected to the special sense of humour that Siamese and Orientals have.

May 03, 2005: I moved the picture of Peter from the front page to the second litters' page, and replaced it with a picture of his brother, (N) OffBeat Ernst, who was Best in Show at a show in Switzerland Sunday 1 May. The picture is taken by Barbara, his owner.
I put out a new picture of Alfons at his own page; you'll find this page if you go to the Cats' page, or use the link from the front page (right margin, beneath the picture of Alfons).
There is also a new picture of Dixie, sleeping together with Alfons, at the Litters' page. Dixie is now seven weeks pregnant.

April 27, 2005: Today I added a very informative and useful link to the links listed under Siamese and Oriental links. It is an English website called Siamese Planet. It's full of useful information and fun opportunities.

April 24, 2005: New picture of (N) OffBeat Peter at the front page. He was at a show yesterday, where he for the first time competed in the adult class. He was BIS neuter. The judge was overwhelmingly positive, and said so incredibly nice things about Peter!
I also put out a new picture of Dixie at the Litters' page. She has now been pregnant for six weeks.

April 17, 2005: After a lovely day in our garden I put out two new pictures of Dixie; one at the front page, the other at the Litters' page.

April 11, 2005: Yesterday Dixie was four weeks gone in her pregnancy. She is radiant! Today I put out some new and old pictures in the gallery, as well as new pictures on the index page.
(N) OffBeat Mogens has fathered his first litter in his home with Tordine Thomassen, (N) Felis Elegance. We are so proud of him!

April 8, 2005: The index page got two new pictures of (N) OffBeat Albert, who was chosen Best in Show at a show in Bergen 2nd of April. I moved a picture of Dixie that was previously published on the index page, to the Litters' page.

April 1, 2005: By all traditional signs, Dixie is now pregnant with Leo. I have updated the front page with a new picture of her, as well as a new picture of Alfons, who attended his first show this Easter. Before that he had only been shown once as kitten, when he got BIS. This time he was not nominated, but got his CAP certificate.
I have also updated the Litters' page with a new picture of Dixie, as well as the Second Litter's page, where I placed the picture of Peter when he became JW.
Dixie's own page has also got a new picture of her. She looks so content on that picture, I think one can sense that she is pregnant just by looking at her face?

March 14, 2005: Peter took two BIS this weekend, and has now earned the title Junior Winner! We are so proud of him. When he also was Best in Show Total in cat.IV, we thought things couldn't go better. But then he came in as number 2 of Best of the Best all categories. Only beaten by a Persian kitten. Unbelievable, but there are witnesses!
Two new pictures taken at the show of Peter, are now on the front page, as well as a new picture of Dixie.
I have also published a new picture of Dixie at the Litters' page, together with a picture of the boy she now has mated properly. She also behaved more like a "normal" queen this time. The previous times she has been to stud, she has not been interested in mating at all. When I took her back to Leo yesterday, she was definitely interested in mating! They mated three times before I left the room to go home.

February 09, 2005: I keep on photographing Alfons. I think he changes a bit day by day. This morning I again found him and Dixie in the box made for SingSang to give birth in (which she never did, but she kept her kittens in there). Alfons and Dixie have fallen in love with this box, where they are secured a bit of privacy. I took two pictures of them. You can see them at Alfons's page.

February 08, 2005: Two new pictures of Alfons at his own page. He is adjusting perfectly to our home. I don't know how we managed to be without him for so long?

February 06, 2005: Two new pictures of Peter and Mogens at the front page. They were both competing at a cat show end of January. Both were nominated as the Judge's Best Cat, but Peter won over Mogens in the panel.
I have placed Alfons among our cats on the Cats' page, and made him a page of his own, accessible from the Cats-page.
We are so happy to have Alfons back with us. He is such a sweet boy! You can almost see how gentle he is on some of the pictures at his own page.

January 31, 2005: Today I got Alfons from my first litter back home. He is such an adorable little boy! A bit anxious, but we can see him growing in selfconfidence by the minute! He was, by the way, the toughest of all his brothers and his one sister. He loved everything and everybody. As far as I can judge from his behaviour these first hours back in our home, he can become that cat again.

January 27, 2005: Alfons from my first litter needs a new home. There is a picture of him at the front page. I have two more pictures of him, taken when he was about 10 months old. Can email them and give more information about Alfons to anybody interested.
After having tested all my cats for FIV/FeLV (negative), they were all vaccinated with Fevaxyn Pentofel 25 January. This vaccine is against Panleucopaenia, cat flu, FeLV and chlamydia.
There is a new picture of Dixie on the front page, below the section about Alfons. I'm very worried about Alfons.

January 8, 2005: Front page updated with pictures of Mogens and Ernst. The Gallery section is updated with new pictures, and Dixie has got a new picture of herself on her own page. The Litters page is also updated with a new picture of Dixie.

December 29, 2004: Two new pictures of Dixie on the index-page, and one new picture of her on the Litters page.
As usual my parents and their dog, Trixie, and my two sons spent the Christmas holidays with us. This year my cousin and her two dogs came too. After they said good bye Monday 27 December, the house seems very quiet.

December 21, 2004: Ernst arrived safely at Zürich and is now living with Barbara Joss-Bolliger, breeder of stunning silver Oriental Shorthairs. You will find a link to her homepage if you click on Links in the menu to the left.
I've also put out information about our plans for mating Dixie. Look at the Litters page. Front page is updated with a wonderfully funny picture of Ernst, taken by his new owner, Barbara. If you scroll down you will also see a new picture of Peter, now called Silver by his new owners.

November 7, 2004: Finally got to updating this homepage! You will find new information on the Litters' page, the Second Litter's page and Dixie's page. Ernst is moving to his new home 10 November. Information about his new family will be published after he has safely arrived.
The Links' page is also updated with links to Albert's and Mogens' homes.

September 28, 2004: New pictures on the front page, new pictures on the Litters' page and the kittens' gallery is also updated with new pictures.
By the way, the litter got a BIS at their first show, and Peter was nominated as the judge's best kitten and also got a BIS. Must admit I am rather proud!

September 06, 2004: Put out some new pictures of the kittens in their own gallery, accessible from the Litters' page. Two new pictures on the index page and one on the Litters page.

August 13, 2004: Yesterday the kittens were 10 weeks old. I've updated their gallery today, plus published two new pictures on the front page and one on the Litters' entrance page.
The kittens' gallery has become rather heavy to load by now, but if you wait for it, it's very quick to click on the small pictures to view them in full size. You access it from the Litters page.

July 28, 2004: Tomorrow the kittens will be 8 weeks old. Updated the front page with one picture, the litters' page with one and also put out some new pictures of them in the litters' own gallery. Other new pictures are published on Modesty & William's website.

July 24, 2004: Put out two new pictures (front page and Litter's page. The kittens are now 7 weeks old. Peter and Albert weigh close to 1 kg, the other two weigh around 950 grams. They are more vigorous than ever. And totally adorable!

July 18, 2004: Updated the Litters' page and this litters' gallery with new pictures and info about the kittens as they are now, six weeks old. There are also lots of pictures of the kittens on Modesty & William's website.

July 05, 2004: Put out new pictures of the kittens on the entrance page, one on the Litters' page. There are also new pictures of the kittens on Modesty & William's homepage. The kittens are now well over 600 grams "heavy", and very active.

June 25, 2004: Updated the front page and the Litters' page with new pictures, taken yesterday on their third week birthday.

June 17, 2004: The kittens are 14 days old tonight. Updated the Litter's page, made a new page for this special litter, where I put out new pictures and also their weights at the moment.

June 14, 2004: Updated the front page with a new picture, the litters' page with a new picture and placed a link to more pictures of the kittens on my other website.

June 10, 2004: Put out some new pictures of the litter on the front page and on the Litters' page, plus their weight one week old.

June 06, 2004: Updated the litters' page.

May 26, 2004: Updated the Litters page and Dixie's page. Lover's pedigree is now available from the Litters' page. You will also find pictures of him.

May 2, 2004: Informed about Oline's death and published articles I've written about FIP. the gallery is updated too, as, of course the Features section. I've also put out the first information about SingSang's expected litter. More will come soon.

March 17, 2004: Updated the gallery with two new pictures of Oline. In 8 days time, she will become five months old.

March 10, 2004: Put out two new pictures of Dixie and Oline in the Gallery, taken today.

March 04, 2004: Updated the Gallery, made Oline her own page and put out her pedigree as well, and updated the Cats' page. Put a new little picture of Dixie on her page.

February 14, 2004: Updated the litters' page.

January 22, 2004: Put out Dixie's pedigree. Go to Cats, click for Dixie and there you will find it.

January 10, 2004: Updated Dixie's page and put out some new pictures of the kittens on the litters page.

November 2, 2003: Updated the index page, the litters page, the cats' page and the gallery.

October 26, 2003: SingSang gave birth to five kittens yesterday evening. Three Siamese and two Oriental Shorthairs. Their birth weight varied from 102 gr to 116 gr.

September 16, 2003: Put out EC Aprikat Spidermantotammee's pedigree, linked from the litters' page.

Feb 18, 2003: Updated the features page with a story about the emotional capacity of mammals, including cats.

I have also updated the links.
